The Challenge
Creating next gen managers with a global outlook
Globalisation has thrown up immense
opportunities as well as challenges for the pharmaceutical industry
worldwide. While on the one hand companies in the developed
North are exploring the opportunities for market expansion in
the developing South, companies in the South are seeking a larger
presence in developed country markets through new technology
and cost management techniques.
Simultaneously, rising consumer awareness and regulation requirements
coupled with fast changing market dynamics pose major challenges
for any long-term player in the pharma sector. The biggest need
in the pharma sector today is to be keep apace with rapid technology
changes, exploit them quickly to one's best advantage, and respond
proactively to changing market trends. It requires a very well
trained and skilled expert mind to manage these requirements
in such a manner that the organisation never loses its competitive
edge.
Such sharp minds are not born or created
overnight. There is a need for specialised training programmes
in the pharma sector that will:
- expose managers
across levels to latest technologies, and
- enable them to
interact with international experts from different related
fields, and thereby
- initiate radical
changes in their level of expertise and ways of thinking.
The Bilcare Research Academy is a pioneering
effort from the pharma packaging major Bilcare to fulfill exactly
that training role.
