Bilcare emerges a winner at Intellectual Property Awards 2010

New Delhi: Bilcare Technologies Limited was felicitated at the Annual Intellectual Property Awards 2010 for securing highest number of registered designs in a year. This is the second consecutive year for the award to be conferred on Bilcare, the creator of world’s first non-clonable security technology and key innovation partner for Walmart in their latest $4 Generic Medicine Initiative. Bilcare was one of the three companies that received accolades in the ceremony held on World Intellectual Property Day. Hindustan Unilever and Reliance Industries are the other two companies who won in categories for maximum patents granted and maximum trademarks registered respectively.
The award, instituted and organised jointly by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India, Intellectual Property India and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), honours Indian companies, institutions and individuals registering maximum number of patents granted in office every year.
Bilcare’s CSO and ED Dr. Praful Naik addressed the gathering after receiving the award. He highlighted the end-user safety, health and well-being as the genesis of Bilcare’s innovation culture. “While we focused on path-breaking technical innovations, we gave equal impetus to creating inimitable designs which could provide distinctive identity to a product, particularly medicines. We are proud to receive the award second time in a row,” he elaborated.
